"Head around the corner and the elevator will take you up to the rooftop."
I nodded to the concierge to indicate I understood and trotted down the foyer of the opulent William Vale Hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
On a cool Friday in October I pressed the green button and was immediately shot into the air. Within seconds I heard a soft ring of a bell to indicate I had arrived at my destination.

The hostess took my coat and let me to an open seat by a tall wide window that overlooked all of of New York City.
There are no other words to describe Westlight except for beautiful. It is sophisticated, opulent and exciting. At twilight the entire restaurant is breathtaking and at sunset, it is chic, cozy and intimate.
I look up to see my friend, Melissa enter and take her seat. After a few laughs and greetings, we pop open the menu to see what little bites and drinks we should order.

The drink menu is pages upon pages of elegant libations and cocktail mixes that you must try. My personal favorite is the Bronx Trail but the North Fork Royal doesn't disappoint either.
